The President of the Republic Martin Vizcarra on Wednesday afternoon announced that the quarantine aimed to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) in Peru has been extended until April 26.
"We cannot let our guard down; we cannot reduce the efforts, which are leading to good results, just at the most difficult stage," he expressed.
"With this, we will guarantee that the efforts we are making these weeks are sustained (…)," he added.
Mr. Vizcarra also specified that these provisions are established or adjusted based on an evaluation carried out by the Government on a daily basis.
On this occasion, the President was joined by members of the Council of Ministers. The event was held at the Government Palace in Lima.
Wednesday marks the twenty-fourth day of mandatory social isolation.
