As part of the International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC 2025), taking place in Sydney, Australia, the official Peruvian delegation participated in the "Peru Time" segment, where the country's mining investment opportunities were presented, including a project portfolio valued at more than US$64 billion.
Representing the Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem), Walter Sánchez, Director of Mining Promotion and Sustainability, participated along with representatives from the Geological, Mining, and Metallurgical Institute (Ingemmet), Promperú, the Australia-Peru Chamber of Commerce (APCCI), as well as mining business leaders and associations.
During his presentation, "Peru: A Reliable Partner for Responsible and Competitive Mining in South America," Sánchez presented the progress of the 2025 Mining Project Portfolio, the creation of territorial development hubs, the favorable legal framework for foreign investment, and actions aimed at modern, sustainable, and responsible mining.
Likewise, in the "Peru Time" space, representatives from the public and private sectors presented strategies to attract Australian capital and promote investment in the mining and energy sectors, highlighting Peru's economic strength and the high professional quality of its human talent.
The Peruvian delegation also participated in the ribbon-cutting of the Peru Stand, located at the Sydney Convention Center, attended by more than 10,500 attendees from 120 countries and 1,000 private sector companies worldwide.

Representatives from the Peruvian public and private sectors subsequently attended the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) for a meeting with international opinion leaders and investors, which culminated with the traditional ringing of the bell, a symbol of opening up new investment opportunities and financial cooperation between Peru and Australia.
The Peruvian delegation also includes Julio Velarde, president of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru; Luis Humberto Chirif, president of Ingemmet; Julia Torreblanca, president of the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE); Vitaliano Gallardo, Peruvian ambassador to Australia; and Claudio Cáceres, president of the Official Peruvian Delegation IMARC 2025, among other prominent businesspeople and officials.
