Peru names new Ambassador to Chile

The Peruvian Foreign Affairs Ministry has appointed Jaime Antonio Pomareda Montenegro as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Peru to the Republic of Chile.

The appointment was made official by Supreme Resolution N° 069-2020-RE published Saturday in El Peruano official gazette.

Corresponding credentials and full powers have been issued to the diplomat as provided by the aforementioned document.

A subsequent ministerial resolution will set the date on which the new Ambassador will officially take up his duties.

Pomareda Montenegro had been serving as deputy foreign affairs minister and is a career diplomat with more than 40 years of service.

The resolution bears the signatures of President Martin Vizcarra and Foreign Affairs Minister Mario Lopez Chavarri.
