Peru: Maiman confirms Odebrecht money delivery to former President Toledo

Israeli citizen Josef Maiman on Wednesday confirmed the delivery of money worth between US$30 million and US$31 million by Brazilian corporation Odebrecht to former Peruvian President Alejandro Toledo (2001-2006), as well as other US$4 million from company Camargo and Correa.

Via videoconference from Israel, the businessman has been declaring before the Lava Jato Case Special Prosecution Group as part of a special hearing anticipated on the case involving former President Toledo and others.

The Public Ministry questions are being made by team member, Prosecutor Jose Domingo Perez. Maiman's defense team is also present at the event.

As is known, the Judiciary approved an effective collaboration agreement with Josef Maiman, who in 2017 joined this special process. 

His statements are related to the alleged bribes paid by Odebrecht over the awarding for development of the South Interoceanic Highway during Toledo's term in office (2001-2006), as well as to the Ecoteva case.
