on Wednesday affirmed that once the electoral process is over, there must be a call for unity, adding that the political group she represents deems as important generating democratic consensus.
"Peru has shown that we need to build bridges," she told RPP radio and TV station after noting that the group will coordinate with all parties represented in Congress.
Chavez recalled that Peru Libre members met recently, saying the aim is to dialogue in order to give peace of mind to citizens.
"We have come to talk, to establish dialogue, and to seek the best for the country," she stressed.
"Peru does not want the scenario of 2016, when the Fujimori party did not accept the results and took the issue to Congress. They have indicated that they are a new Fujimori movement, and we hope it will be that way," the Peru Libre parliamentary spokesperson expressed.
Concerning the complaints of an alleged "fraud" —made by Fuerza Popular— Chavez specified that electoral bodies will be in charge of solving those issues.
Moreover, she announced that Peru Libre members will attend as observers Congress' plenary session to be held this week.
In this sense, the spokeswoman said that they will be attentive to the development of the fourth legislature approved by Parliament to discuss constitutional issues.
She also clarified that the party will be there to support the Executive Branch and seek consensus.
