The Peruvian Export and Tourism Promotion Commission (Promperú) launched the first national promotional campaign for Peruvian avocados in China, marking a new milestone in the product's expansion in one of the world's fastest-growing markets.

As part of the strategy, activations were carried out in More Yogurt stores in Shanghai, where a themed experience centered on Peruvian avocados was presented.

The brand, which uses the fruit as one of its main ingredients, has sold more than 100 million cups by May 2025, 47 million of which are its flagship avocado yogurt smoothie.

Its “Crazy Avocado Month” campaign surpassed 60 million views and generated more than 160,000 interactions on the RedNote platform, one of the most popular social and e-commerce platforms in China.

Promperú's campaign also included partnerships with modern distribution channels such as JD Fresh, Meituan, Freshippo, 7Fresh, and BUT Mart, with activations both online and in physical stores in key cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, and Dalian.

These actions consolidate the presence of Peruvian avocados in strategic points of sale and strengthen their positioning as a premium product.

These actions reached more than 141,000 visitors in seven cities. On social media, the hashtags exceeded 6 million views, while sales drove a 50% increase in market price.

Furthermore, promotions on JD.com, Meituan, and Dingdong positioned Peruvian avocados among the most prominent products, with more than 1,200 positive consumer reviews.

By 2024, Peruvian avocado exports to China reached US$50 million, and by June 2025 had already exceeded US$54 million, with projected annual growth of up to 30%.

Peru is currently the world's second-largest producer and the main supplier of avocados to the Chinese market, with a 78% share and more than 38,000 tons exported.

The success of this expansion is also supported by the work of Peruvian exporting companies and logistics partners who guarantee a consistent, high-quality supply.

The opening of the Port of Chancay in 2024 has reduced shipping times to China from 35 to 24 days, strengthening the competitiveness of Peruvian agricultural exports.

With this campaign, Promperú, an entity attached to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), reaffirms its commitment to promoting the national agricultural export market, boosting Peru's presence in Asia, and positioning the Peruvian avocado as a product of excellence, sustainability, and innovation in the international market.
