22:08 | Lima, Feb. 17.

Hours after being censured as Congress Chairman and Acting President of the Republic, Jose Jeri left the Government Palace in Lima on Tuesday evening.

The now former Head of State remained at the Executive Branch headquarters, accompanied by a large number of State ministers who are still in office, until approximately 7:40 p.m. (local time).

At that time, still accompanied by Cabinet members, Jeri crossed the Palace Courtyard of Honor, reached the main entrance, was bid farewell amid applause, entered an unofficial SUV, and departed.

However, a few meters away, Jeri stepped out of his vehicle and greeted members of the public gathered at the Main Square.

He made no statements despite the presence of numerous media outlets. After the brief greeting, Jeri re-entered the vehicle and continued on his way.

Subsequently, the ministers returned to the interior of the government headquarters.

Among the ministers who applauded the former Head of State as he departed were Minister Luis Quiroz (Health), Walter Martinez (Justice), Cesar Quispe (Production), and Lesly Shica (Development-Social Inclusion), among others.

Meanwhile, cabinet members —including Prime Minister Ernesto Alvarez— remain in office until their successors are appointed.
