Peru: Foreign Affairs Min welcomed int'l participation in UNITAS exercise

Foreign Affairs Minister Oscar Maurtua highlighted the participation of a number of international delegations in this year's UNITAS, a multinational maritime exercise that was held in Peru.

The diplomat affirmed that this is an example of international cooperation in the naval sphere.

In addition, said military exercise strengthens the bonds of friendship that Peru maintains with other countries around the world, he said.

During the ceremony marking the 142nd anniversary of the Naval Battle of Angamos and the Bicentennial of the Peruvian Navy, Maurtua greeted the international delegations that participated in UNITAS 2021.

Additionally, the minister thanked the gestures from various countries that recognize the prestige of the Peruvian Navy.

The activities planned as part of the UNITAS exercise ended on October 6. They were conducted by Peruvian and international naval forces in maritime and river environments across the country.
