The Second Preliminary Investigation Court, presided over by Judge Fernando Valdez, has
scheduled the hearing on the 36-month travel ban request against former President Dina Boluarte Zegarra for October 15 at 9:00 a.m. (local time).
The ex-Head of State is under investigation as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of money laundering to the detriment of the Peruvian State.
The case is linked to the collection of money intended to pay the civil reparation of Vladimir Cerron, assets originating from the criminal organization "Los Dinamicos del Centro" (The Dynamics of the Center).
According to the court resolution, the judge decided to summon an in-person hearing on the travel ban for October 15 at 9:00 a.m., at the hearing room of the National Specialized Criminal Court. The building is located at Av. Prolongación Tacna No. 734, Cercado de Lima.
Likewise, it stipulates that the Public Ministry's representative be notified to attend the in-person hearing on the travel ban request, under the warning that failure to appear will be reported to the Public Ministry's National Oversight Authority.
Similarly, it is ordered that the defendant's defense attorney be notified to attend the in-person hearing on the travel ban request, under the warning that a public defender will be appointed if the privately retained lawyer fails to appear.
It should be noted that the Attorney General's Office has also requested a travel ban on the ex-President in the case involving cosmetic surgeries. In this case, the requested period is 18 months.
To review this request, the Supreme Preliminary Investigation Court has scheduled a virtual hearing for Thursday, October 16, at 8:00 a.m. (local time).
Boluarte Zegarra is under investigation for the alleged commission of the crime of incompatible negotiation, or misuse of office, to the detriment of the State.
