The Attorney General's Office on Friday requested an 18-month travel ban against Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra, who is under investigation for the alleged commission of the crime of incompatible negotiation or misuse of office to the detriment of the Peruvian State.

The petition is based on reports that the former President of the Republic showed interest in appointing officials at the Social Health Insurance System (EsSalud) and in securing the payment of social benefits for one of the friends of the physician who allegedly performed cosmetic surgeries on her.

Likewise, the First Specialized Supra-Provincial Corporate Prosecutor's Office for Money Laundering Crimes (Third Division) has requested a 36-month travel ban on Boluarte Zegarra.

She is under investigation for money laundering to the detriment of the Peruvian State.

The case is linked to the collection of funds intended to pay the civil reparation of Vladimir Cerron, with assets originating from the criminal organization "Los Dinamicos del Centro" (The Dynamics of the Center).

Earlier, her lawyer, Juan Carlos Portugal, stated that his client was neither in asylum nor officially missing following her impeachment and removal from the Presidency of the Republic.
