ONPE official results: Fujimori (52.905%); Castillo (47.095%) at 42.030%

Candidate Keiko Fujimori (Fuerza Popular) obtained 52.905% of votes in Peru's presidential runoff election, followed by Pedro Castillo (Peru Libre) with 47.095% —out of 42.030% of records processed by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE).

ONPE Chief Piero Corvetto on Sunday night presented the first report of official results obtained from the urban records closest to computing centers.

The official indicated that rural votes and those cast overseas are yet to be processed.

Corvetto said there were 11,897 polling places, 86,488 voting tables, and 511,514 polling station members called for this election.

He also affirmed that the report will be updated every 30 minutes.

On Sunday, Peruvians went to the polls to elect a new President of the Republic between candidates Keiko Fujimori and Pedro Castillo. Whoever wins the election is expected to be sworn in to office on July 28, 2021.
