Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Cecilia Gervasi affirmed that the visit paid by the President of the Republic Dina Boluarte to the United States enabled Peru's international image to continue being strengthened as a reliable partner for trade and investments.

The diplomat indicated that Mrs. Boluarte had participated in a meeting convened by U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Janet Yellen, along with the leaders who had been invited by President Joe Biden, with the purpose of talking about issues related to the economy and finances among countries of the region.

"This new international meeting, in which President Boluarte has participated, served to continue strengthening the international image of Peru as a reliable partner for trade and investments," Gervasi told TVPeru on Friday night.

In this sense, Minister Gervasi explained that the meeting with the U.S. top official had been confirmed and was thus communicated, which is why it appears on President Boluarte's agenda.

"Finally, due to time management issues, this meeting could not be held under the protocols that correspond to a formal bilateral meeting; nonetheless, both presidents spoke privately about the most important issues on the bilateral agenda; so, the form is one topic, the substance is another; the conversation took place," she said.

Later, Minister Gervasi reminded citizens that Peru will hold the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum presidency for the third time in 2024, which is important because our country assumes a commitment to integration. It brings together the 21 most dynamic economies in the world.
