Peru's President meets with U.S. Treasury Secretary

Peruvian President Dina Boluarte on Friday met with United States Secretary of the Treasury, Janet Yellen, during her participation in a working meeting —within the framework of the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity (APEP) Summit in Washington, D.C.

Topics such as the main challenges for more equitable economic growth and international financial institutions reform were discussed at this event.

The Presidents of Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves; Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso; and Uruguay, Luis Lacalle; as well as representatives of Panama; Mexico; and the Dominican Republic participated in this event.

As usual, the Peruvian Head of State was accompanied by Ministers Ana Cecilia Gervasi (Foreign Affairs) and Alex Contreras (Economy and Finance).

Last Thursday, the Head of State met businesspeople from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Likewise, Mrs. Boluarte participated in the panel discussion at the APEP-IDB Responsible Investment Forum.

Furthermore, the Peruvian president held bilateral meetings with counterparts from Costa Rica and Uruguay.

Moreover, the top official attended a meeting organized by the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Benjamin Cardin.

She also met with Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) President Ilan Goldfajn.
