The Cabinet member pointed out that said decision reaffirms the importance of preserving the bloc as a mechanism for economic, commercial, and cooperative integration.
"On August 1, Peru will assume the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the Pacific Alliance, after a consensual decision that reaffirms the importance of preserving the bloc as a mechanism for economic, trade, and cooperative integration," Gervasi reported via the
Foreign Affairs Ministry's official Twitter account.
The Pro-Tempore Presidency will be first exercised by Chile starting today, June 28, following a decision made by the four member countries at a meeting held in Santiago earlier today.
The authorities of these four member countries reaffirmed their commitment to the bloc "as a mechanism for political articulation, economic-commercial integration, cooperation, and projection to the world."
