Through the appointment of Ambassador Coronado Molina, Peru aims to advance actions that foster national interests, strengthen democratic institutions, and contribute to regional efforts focused on security, sustainable development, and the protection of fundamental rights.
Additionally, the Peruvian representative will be responsible for actively participating in the deliberations of the OAS Permanent Council, as well as in the committees and working groups dedicated to promoting democratic governance, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and international cooperation.
Biography
Ambassador Rodolfo Coronado is a career diplomat with nearly three decades of service to the Peruvian State.
Abroad, he has served in the political sections of Peruvian Embassies in the United States and the Republic of Chile, as well as Peru's Consul General in Houston.
Prior to his appointment, the diplomat served as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2024–2025).
He previously held the position of Chief of the General Communications Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2023) and served at the Office of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2014 and 2016), as well as Deputy Director for OAS and Hemispheric Affairs (2015 and 2016), among other roles.
He holds a law degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru and a master's degree in International Public Policy from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University.
Before beginning his diplomatic career, he served as an advisor to the Foreign Affairs Commission at Congress (1995–1996).
With this appointment, the Peruvian State reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the country's presence in the Inter-American system and consolidating its diplomatic work in key spaces for political dialogue, the defense of democracy, and multilateral cooperation.
