The touristic and ancient city of Cusco in Peru host the international exhibition of art “Amazonia”, which gather the works of painters from Denmark, Poland, Argentina, Chile, among others, till December 30, 2024, which is open to the public.
The artistic community Espacio Convergente, composed of Carlo Calanche, Fiorella Artadi, Flori Bandini, and José Crespo, is organizing and producing the latest edition of the international collective exhibition "Amazonia".
This exhibit previously received an honorable mention from the Peruvian Curators Association during the 2021 Llama Awards.
The exhibition is open to the public at the Alianza Francesa (Alliance française) in Cusco until December 30, 2024.
Featuring works in various techniques and styles, it includes contributions from over 50 contemporary, emerging, and established artists from Peru and abroad. Notable participants hail from Argentina, Chile, Denmark, and Poland.
As part of the program, artist José Antonio Torres will lead a talk titled Painting Music: Its Connection to Memory, Space, and Emotion.
Originally launched as a virtual exhibition, Amazonía emphasizes the urgency of preserving the planet’s natural ecosystems. It uses art as a medium to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the Amazon rainforest.
Each artwork reflects the artist’s unique perspective, fostering a visual dialogue with viewers and showcasing diverse geographic and sociopolitical realities.
Participating artists include Adriana Schwindt (Argentina); Amada Bravo, Julia Lafée, and Pamela Leichtle (Chile); and Hanne Holdorf (Denmark). From Poland, Hanna Wojczuck and Malgorzata Smelcerz Wojczuck contribute.
Peruvian artists include Adawie Ghaliya, Adriana Pardo, AntoZv, Augusto Ibáñez, Cecilia Flores, Cecilia de la Piedra, Elica Pusaclla, Edison Mejía Achaya, Emiiy Otárola, and Geiss Zabarburú.
Additional participants are Giuliana Pita, Guillermo Queirolo, Iris Silva Aliaga, Javier Arriola, Jessica Pacheco, Jose Antonio Torres, Joseph de Utia, Karina Aguilar, Kimi Neff, Lorena Cárdenas, Lucía Portocarrero, Marissa Castro, Martín Yépez, Mimi Cazorla, Olivia Yerovi.
