The
received from the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil in Lima an important donation of 50,000 molecular tests for the detection of the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which causes COVID-19.
"This is an example of how deep and strong our ties are," she expressed.
The high-ranking official stressed that this donation —whose value exceeds US$380,000— will allow the ministry to reinforce the strategy developed during the COVID-19 health emergency and for which molecular tests are used.
"We need to combine all possible efforts to have more accurate diagnoses that allow us to combat this pandemic in the most effective way possible," she added.
In turn,
Ambassador Baena Soares indicated that it is a great satisfaction for Brazil to join the efforts that Peru is undertaking to combat the disease.
"Brazil will always be present to extend a helping hand to Peru. We have done it before, we are doing it now, and we will continue doing so," said the highest representative of the neighboring country.
The authorities of both countries took the opportunity to announce a future donation of mechanical fans.
"The procedures and coordination are very advanced. Thanks to the next arrival of these medical teams, we will reinforce our intensive care units,"
