A moderate 4.2-magnitude quake struck south of Peru’s capital, Lima, on Saturday morning, but there were no immediate reports of damages or injures, the country's Geophysics Institute (IGP) reported.
The quake, which shook the Andean country at 05:24 am (10:24 GMT), was centered in Chilca, 65 kilometers (40 miles) southeast of the Peruvian city of Lima.
According to the IGP report, the epicenter of the earthquake was located at 7 kilometers east Chilca and a depth of 58 kilometers, in the Pacific Ocean.
