President urges Peruvians to put differences aside, find unity

14:36 | Lima, Apr. 29.

President Martin Vizcarra on Monday urged all Peruvian citizens to put their differences aside, seek common ground, and find unity in order to continue accomplishing the objectives set as a country.

According to the Head of State, his administration promotes an equitable, competitive, and sustainable economic growth

In this sense, he indicated his administration's goal is to build a more prosperous, decent, efficient, united, and diverse nation that is also committed to fighting violence in all its forms, as well as against climate change and poverty

However, the top official pointed out the Executive Branch has suffered attacks from sectors that believe they will benefit from debilitating the government.

Therefore, the statesman considers it is fundamental for Peru to continue making progress and that an immediate future with a vision towards 2050 should be constructed.

"Peru must not back down," President Vizcarra expressed.

Remarks were made during the inauguration of the National Agreement Forum, in which Peru's Vision by 2050 was presented.

The National Agreement is the set of State policies elaborated and approved on the basis of dialogue and consensus, after a process of workshops and consultations at the national level, in order to define a course for sustainable development in Peru and affirm its democratic governance.
