Peru's participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia is expected to contribute between 0.2% and 0.5% to national GDP, Enginy Assessors consulting firm projected.

According to Enginy Assessors Director Francesc Rufas, the Inca country's qualification for the World Cup tournament has already achieved a leverage effect on its domestic economy, especially on consumption.

As is known, 3 million national team jerseys were sold only in November while Peru was participating at the Qualifiers playoffs, generating a profit of US$1.5 million.
