After having defeated New Zealand in the qualifying playoff on Wednesday night, Peru managed to earn a place at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Peruvian players Jefferson Farfan (27th minute) and Christian Ramos (65th) scored the two goals for the national team.

Thus, Peru will join a World Cup tournament after 36 years.

As is known, Peru and New Zealand saw a 0-0 draw in Wellington last Saturday.

Wednesday's match was decisive to find out which team would grab the last ticket to soccer's most important tournament held every 4 years.

Peruvians residing in the national territory and overseas joined the celebrations.
