The President of the Republic Francisco Sagasti has affirmed that once citizens look at what has been accomplished during his administration, the most relevant achievement will be the vaccination against COVID-19, adding that many other activities were also carried out, as in the economic field.

"For example, during the first months of this year we have had a record public investment; private investment pace has recovered; we have expanded social programs in a fairly clear way; and we continue to do so," he expressed.

The Head of State said a decree was recently approved, which extends the deadline to receive the S/600 (about US$164) government grant because there is a group of people who had not managed to access this benefit.

"In addition to the economic and education sectors, what I would like to highlight is the issue of trust and hope," Mr. Sagasti told Canal N on Wednesday night.

The President also pointed out that —thanks to these actions—
it was proven that Peru can be governed with tranquility, honesty, calm, and respecting the rules.

"That is legacy of a government that works as a team, together, does not seek fights, and continues to work without pause trying to speed things up; that is what we can leave (for the next government) in Peru: that administrations can govern well, honestly, and clearly," he underlined.

The National Election Board (JNE) has yet to announce to the winner of the June 6 presidential runoff election.
