Peruvian Prime Minister Violeta Bermudez on Sunday affirmed that every government is able to work transparently and honestly.

Her remarks came as she congratulated the country's Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (MVCS) for having received the ISO 37001 certification for its anti-bribery management system.

According to the Cabinet chief, this certification reflects its fair, ethical, and honest management.

The Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation was awarded the ISO 37001: 2016 certification —known as 'Anti-bribery ISO 37001'— for the implementation of processes to prevent, detect, and control criminal acts of bribery in the institution, in order to guarantee ethical, honest, and transparent practices, for the benefit of all Peruvians.

Following a rigorous audit process, Global Certification Bureau (GCB) determined that the Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) implemented by the institution meets the requirements set by the ISO 37001: 2016 standard.

The MVCS was able to demonstrate the implementation of anti-bribery measures in processes under the Comprehensive Neighborhood Improvement Program (PMIB), Our Cities Program (PNC), the Family Housing Subsidy (BFH), the National Urban Sanitation Program (PNSU), the National Rural Sanitation Program (PNSR), the Safe Water for Lima and Callao Program (PASLC), and the Improvement of Rural Housing.
