President Martin Vizcarra affirmed the population views the political and justice reform bills —submitted by the Executive Branch to Congress— as urgent measures that must be implemented —alongside with infrastructure works— in the Inca country.
The Head of State indicated citizens are fully
aware of these reforms and recognize their urgency to be put in place.
It is essential to rely on a Judicial Branch respected for its fair judgment. However, this is not the case due to the current crisis affecting the justice system, the Peruvian leader said.
"We have proposed three political reforms and
one linked to justice. We want them to move forward, (and) we will continue working hard (in this sense)," he affirmed.
The Head of State expects Congress to take into consideration the urgency of this issue and speed up the process aimed at
holding the referendum as the next step.
Remarks were made on Sunday from rainforest Madre de Dios region, where President Vizcarra led a new Muni-Executive Power Meeting.
He also reaffirmed the Government's commitment to protecting the environment.
