President Martin Vizcarra on Monday said that Peruvians want institutions to stop negotiating agreements behind closed doors and people's backs.

The Head of State noted that the South American country is reshaping its future to deal with threats like corruption

He warned that the agreements negotiated behind closed doors are often useful for few people who seek impunity and defend privileges that harm citizens and limit the country's progress.

"It is clear that Peruvians want to embark on a new stage, where citizens can ensure their rights, find their voice, and have decision-making capacity," he said at the Armed Forces Day ceremony.
