Peruvian President Martin Vizcarra on Tuesday requested Congress to move to this week the date of the plenary session,
From
northern Lambayeque region, the Head of State announced that he will go to Parliament for the corresponding debate. There, he will address the lack of arguments for the latest request submitted by some lawmakers.
"As a democrat, I accept this tool granted by the Constitution, which in our opinion has been misused, and I will have to go to Congress in order to explain and justify the lack of arguments for the vacancy," he expressed.
Under that premise, the top official urged Parliament to hold the corresponding session this week —on Thursday or Friday— to avoid a situation of uncertainty that damages Peru.
"I am willing to go to Congress as I am holding my head high, and I never run away. Therefore, I will be present (at the session)," he said after referring that
confrontation does not allow his administration to develop the works needed to generate development nationwide.
However, he stated that the majority of Peruvians are aware that these situations harm them.
On the occasion, the Head of State handed over 3,499 land titles to families who had been waiting for years to obtain them.
