on Thursday affirmed that the presence of the Ministerial Cabinet in Congress —aimed at requesting the confidence vote— is a way of better articulating the relationship between the two branches of the Peruvian State.
"I come with the calm that characterizes a democrat to address what we have been doing as a government and also to propose, in the dilemma in which we find ourselves, the alternatives that we as the government have come to assume," he expressed.
The President of the Council of Ministers arrived at Congress joined by Cabinet members to report on the actions of the Executive Branch and present the government's general policy.
During the parliamentary interregnum, the Government enacted 70 emergency decrees, which respect the Constitution and correspond to the government policy's axes. These are: fight against corruption; institutional strengthening; economic growth; social development and well-being of the population; and decentralization.
Following his presentation, the Cabinet will be given two hours to respond lawmakers' questions.
