Peru Gov't to submit new anti-corruption bills to Parliament this week

14:50 | Lima, Aug. 7.

Peru's Executive Branch will submit three additional anti-corruption bills to Parliament this week, President Martin Vizcarra announced Tuesday.

According to the Head of State, said legislative initiatives will become part of the justice system reform package introduced last week.

Claiming that justice system collapsed and needs to be improved, the statesman remarked the bills will meet this popular clamor.

"We'll send three additional bills this week, just as I promised while addressing Peruvians at Parliament on July 28," he stated.

Likewise, Vizcarra said he supports those who call for better justice and democracy, as well as an open fight against corruption.

The event gathers representatives from Latin American and the Caribbean governments, as well as international institutions, the academy, and civil society.

Held at Lima Convention Center, the meeting will run thru August 9.
