During a ceremony held at Torre Tagle Palace in Lima,
presented his administration's guidelines to diplomatic corps members in Peru, as well as to former foreign affairs ministers.
"I know that I can count on the support of Ministry officials from the Lima headquarters, the decentralized offices, as well as our missions abroad for these tasks," he said during the ceremony.
The traditional institutional ceremony introducing Minister Carlos Pareja and bidding farewell to former Minister Hugo de Zela was attended by senior officials, former foreign affairs ministers, as well as current diplomatic service officials.
Minister Pareja assured attendees that work is underway with electoral organizations and international observer missions to guarantee the smooth conduct of the upcoming presidential runoff election.
"Once the results are proclaimed, we will collaborate with the new authorities to ensure an orderly transfer of government, in accordance with the Political Constitution," he stated.
Moreover, the Cabinet member reaffirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs maintains an agenda focused on strengthening relations with countries in the region, as well as on assisting Peruvians abroad.
"Peru relies on diplomacy attentive to the need to prevent and mitigate the impacts of uncertainty, as well as continue the work to boost investments in our country," he added.
The diplomat also indicated that, as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is in charge of the events marking the presidential inauguration ceremony on July 28, he harnessed his recent working trip to Costa Rica to extend advance invitations to the inauguration of Peru's next Government to Heads of State, the King of Spain, and his counterparts.

At the event, the Cabinet member reaffirmed the solidity of the South American country's ties to the international community.
During the protocol ceremony, the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Monsignor Paolo Rocco Gualtieri, Apostolic Nuncio of the Holy See, expressed the commitment of foreign missions to cooperate with the Government of Peru.
