Deputy Mayor Adrina Gibson highlighted the historic ties between Peru and the State of Colorado.
The official emphasized how the Peruvian community has fully integrated into local society and how its contributions have supported Denver's economic growth.
"Peru has given this city, and the United States, an unparalleled culture, ancestral wisdom, and a spirit of resilience," she underscored.
Later, the proclamation signed by Denver Mayor Mike Johnston was read aloud, declaring the occasion as the "Republic of Peru Recognition Day."
In his remarks, he underscored that Peru and the United States have strengthened their cultural and economic ties over time, deepening cooperation and friendship.
In turn, Peru's Consul General in Denver, Pedro Pablo Delgado expressed gratitude for the proclamation and the illumination of City Hall.
Similarly, he described the event as the best example of friendship and cooperation that will remain in the memory of Peruvian diplomatic and consular history.
