The Private Investment Promotion Agency (ProInversion), entity attached to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), plans to attract approximately US$10 billion in investment by July 2026, through the awarding of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects, Asset-Based Projects, and investment advances (addenda) in current concessions.

The executive director of ProInversión, Luis Del Carpio, explained that among the main PPP projects to be awarded during the current administration are the Ancon Industrial Park, the Choquequirao Cable Car, the New Military Hospital, the Management of the San Borja Children's Hospital, the Huancayo Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR by its initials in Spanish), and the Headwaters Works project.

Regarding the addendums, initiatives such as the expansion of the Port of Matarani, the Massive Natural Gas Supply in seven regions (Cálidda), Salog, and Torre Trecca, the expansion of Line 1 of the Lima Metro, and the Second Group of Regional Airports were mentioned.

Regarding the Port of Matarani, Luis Del Carpio stated that the addendum will be signed in the coming weeks, allowing the concessionaire to invest $705 million to significantly expand operational capacity and improve cargo handling.

This investment will generate 1,800 direct jobs and boost the economy of southern Peru.

The head of ProInversion emphasized that foreign capital maintains its confidence in Peru as a solid and attractive location for long-term investment, thanks to its monetary and fiscal strengths, a stable legal framework, international treaties that guarantee investment, and regulations that promote transparency and predictability.

He emphasized that ProInversion continues to promote the Works for Taxes (OxI) mechanism, providing technical assistance to ministries, regional and local governments, and public universities.

It is estimated that by 2025, public entities will allocate more than 4 billion soles through this mechanism, strengthening the execution of social and productive infrastructure.

Luis Del Carpio reaffirmed that ProInversion's purpose, in line with the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF), is to promote and develop quality infrastructure and public services, contributing to closing gaps and the well-being of millions of Peruvians.
