Peru will once again be the center of international mining with SIMPOSIO XVI, a global mining event organized by the National Society of Mining, Petroleum, and Energy (SNMPE by its initials in Spanish), which will take place from May 26 to 28, 2026, in Lima.
This event consolidates its position as the main meeting point for the private sector to analyze the challenges and opportunities facing the Peruvian mining industry.
In a global context marked by political and economic volatility, this event reaffirms its relevance as a key space for shaping the national mining agenda and its contribution to the country's sustainable development.
Through open and constructive debate, the Symposium connects the mining industry with the present and future of Peru, promoting innovation, development, competitiveness, and dialogue among various economic stakeholders.
With the motto "Mining that integrates, builds the present, transforms the future," the SIMPOSIO (Symposium) highlights the role of formal and responsible mining as an essential driver of national development.
This meeting highlights how mining can generate synergies with sectors such as agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, and trade, driving a more diversified and inclusive economy.

In Peru, where mining potential is key to sustainable growth today, the SIMPOSIO invites reflection and proposals for concrete actions regarding an industry that integrates, creates opportunities, and makes us a leading player.
"Peru is a global player today. We have critical minerals, such as copper, that the world needs for the energy transition and new technologies".said Diego Ortega, president of the 16th SIMPOSIO.
"This is a unique opportunity to position ourselves before the world and show how formal, responsible, and sustainable mining can be an active part of the solutions Peru needs," Ortega added.
The international meeting will take place from May 26 to 28, 2026, at the JW Marriott Hotel (Lima) and will bring together representatives from the industry, regions, academia, banking, and the international community.
The sessions will address topics such as investment, sustainability, innovation, governance, and inclusion, with the participation of global leaders, who will provide an international perspective on the trends, challenges, and opportunities that will help define the new agenda for Peruvian mining.
The SIMPOSIO, held every two years, has established itself as a high-level dialogue platform that sets the tone for cutting-edge discussions relevant to the industry, reaffirming the role of mining as an engine of development and how the sector that integrates the country can contribute to the world's energy and economic future.
