Peru Embassy celebrates Independence Anniversary in U.S.

The Peruvian Embassy in the United States celebrated the Inca country's 198th Independence anniversary at the National Museum of the American Indian in the United States' capital city of Washington D.C.

Over 500 people attended the corresponding festivities. 

After Peruvian tenor Jose Sacin sang the national anthems of Peru and the U.S., Ambassador Hugo de Zela delivered a speech, underlining diverse aspects of the bilateral relation and the entrepreneurial spirit of the Peruvian community in the North American country. 

Likewise, the Andean nation's diplomat inaugurated the cultural festival known as Kaypi Peru 2019

The event included diverse cultural exhibitions such as textiles and crafts of Peruvian regions' craftspeople, music and dance performances, activities for children, movie screenings, a display of traditional plants, as well as pisco and Peruvian gastronomy booths. 

The event took place on July 25.
