, as well as its international presence and essential role in the economy, Peru's Exports and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru) informed Monday.

cuisine, as we understand it today, which is the one that the world knows, is the result of the wonderful miscegenation that we have in Peru," the
chef expressed.
Likewise, he recalled
Peruvian gastronomy currently celebrates an important moment, since it has achieved a global reach in the last 25 years, adding it represents a great opportunity to increase culinary tourism.
It should be noted that —according to the
2017 Foreign Tourist Profile— the Inca country's cuisine is the fifth motivation to visit Peru, while 82% of respondents consider the nation as a "gastronomic tourism destination."
Furthermore, the study pointed out that 3 out of 10 travelers have eaten Peruvian food in their country of origin. Said preference for
gastronomy generates a demand for agro-export products.
