Peru: Alan Garcia, Keiko Fujimori head disapproval ratings list

10:57 | Lima, Dec. 24.

Former President Alan Garcia (1985-1990; 2006-2011) leads the list of politicians in Peru with the highest disapproval rating at 93%, while his approval stands at 4%.

Fuerza Popular party leader Keiko Fujimori comes second. 86% of Peruvians disapprove of her performance, whereas 9% support her, the latest Peruvian Studies Institute (IEP) poll has revealed.

Ex-Head of State Ollanta Humala (2011-2016) holds the third place, whose disapproval rating stands at 83%, compared with 10% of approval.

Garcia, Fujimori, and Humala are linked to Brazilian corruption-tainted Odebrecht and are, therefore, currently under investigation.

They are followed by Keiko Fujimori's brother Kenji Fujimori; 80% of those surveyed disapprove of him, whereas 11% support him.

Likewise, the survey finds 71% of the Inca country's citizens disapprove of Ollanta Humala's brother Antauro Humala —who currently serves a 19-year sentence— and 9% express approval.

Former presidential candidate Cesar Acuña —who was barred from running— holds the sixth place (70% of disapproval, 8% of approval).

Furthermore, ex-presidential candidates Veronika Mendoza and Gregorio Santos are disapproved by 54% and 42%, respectively, while 14% and 6% of Peruvians approve of them.
