said in Paccaritambo district, Paruro province, on Sunday that her Government is traveling across the country to ensure that State resources are turned into concrete actions, such as the support delivered to producers and rural women's organizations.
"It is a great joy for me to be here delivering results because we are here to tell you that the Government is present. This Government, which has just begun, is not sitting in the capital; it is constantly traveling across the country," Fujimori stated.
In this regard, the Head of State underscored the importance of authorities at the various levels of government setting aside their differences and working jointly.
"Peru has significant budgets, and we must learn to work together because we are a team," she pointed out.
The top official said she had received documents from mayors regarding stalled projects.
Similarly, Fujimori noted that she had instructed ministers to review each case and provide clear responses to authorities.
At another point, the President announced that the national plan for the next five years in education will be presented tomorrow.
"Tomorrow (Monday), we will present the national plan for the next five years in education because education is what transforms our society. It is what will allow our children to be better prepared than we, their parents, are," Fujimori noted.
During the event, the Head of State highlighted the funding allocated to women producers and called for this type of support to be expanded as their businesses begin to develop.
"When this program begins to flourish, Minister Vinelli, we must secure more funding so that all regions can benefit from this type of project," she said.
In this context, the Agrarian Development and Irrigation minister explained that the strategy seeks to give rural women producers the opportunity to generate higher incomes through business plans.
"In recent days, we have approved around S/10 million (about US$2.9 million) for 78 women's organizations nationwide. These are economic activities that enable them to generate income, provide food for their children, and move forward without any kind of dependency," Vinelli indicated.
The Cabinet member underscored that the president's directive is to bring the ministry's programs closer to small- and medium-sized farmers.
"Madam President's request has been for the Ministry to be on the ground, to be close to you, in the countryside, on the farms, like you. We will deepen this work and support you through the various programs so that you can sell your products, earn money, and continue growing," he indicated.
Projects for Cusco
During her visit to Paccaritambo, President Fujimori held discussions with Cusco Region Governor Werner Salcedo and local authorities to address connectivity, water and sanitation projects, as well as other needs raised by the local population.
Against this backdrop, the National Government and subnational governments will maintain dialogue and work in a coordinated manner.
"In these few minutes we have spent together, we have reviewed the projects the governor is carrying out (...) This will precisely mark the beginning of the connectivity that Cusco region needs, and the governor knows that he has the backing and support of the Central Government," she stated.
The top official also referred to the documents she received from mayors regarding pending projects and confirmed that some of these requests will be considered by the Executive Branch.
"I am taking these water and sanitation projects with me, and we will include them in the national budget," she announced.
In turn, Governor Werner Salcedo reported that a road project is currently under evaluation, with an estimated investment of S/ 540 million (about US$160.5 million), which would benefit Paruro, Chumbivilcas, and Cotabambas, as well as various districts and communities.
The regional authority said this road will enhance connectivity between the two areas and stressed the need to work with the National Government to advance larger-scale projects.
In turn, Paccaritambo District Mayor Egedio Llamocca Cruz thanked the Head of state for her presence and conveyed the main demands of his jurisdiction, including the implementation of comprehensive basic sanitation and improvements to transportation routes.
Finally, Apu Sullcan Micro-Watershed Chairman Nicanor Mora thanked President Fujimori for her visit on behalf of the communities in the area and recalled the presence of former President Alberto Fujimori in Paccaritambo three decades ago.
The community leader mentioned the inauguration of the Cusco-Paccaritambo-Santo Tomas road during that administration.
He also recalled the delivery of agricultural machinery, while calling for continued support for the communities through more infrastructure and equipment to help them develop their activities.
