Crowds of domestic and foreign tourists are expected to flock to the Inca city of Cusco tomorrow on the occasion of Great Kacharpari Carnival. Travelers will join locals and colorful troupes at the main square.
The activity is scheduled to begin at 10 AM with several delegations gathered at Ave. El Sol. This will be the starting point before moving to the main square, where an Andean-type stage has been raised on the occasion.
According to Percy Galdo Bellota, Manager at Cusco's Municipal Company of Festivities (Emufec), the event will bring together organizations, associations, markets and winners from provincial carnival-like festivities, mainly from the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
During the celebration, locals will invite visitors to dance and join the parade. Participants are urged to be cautious when playing with water.

In the 30th anniversary of its founding, Emufec managed to consolidate the calendar of festivities, and Carnivals stand out as one of the most important.
Activities will involve the participation of Cusco's Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Dircetur) and other tourism-related organizations.
While in there, attendees will be able to taste Timpu or puchero, a traditional dish made of potatoes, lamb, chickpea, sweet potatoes, cabbage, and rice. Also, a total of 18 food stands will be open during the event.
Some 80 police officers, 40 municipal guards and several firefighters will be deployed to provide security services in the area.
