Chinese president Hu Jintao arrived Wednesday afternoon in Peru’s capital Lima to pay a two-day state visit to the Andean country and attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders' Summit this weekend.
The Chinese leader arrived at the Air Group Nº 8 at 14:20 hours (19:20 GMT) on an Air China plane, accompanied by a large delegation of Chinese government officials and business people.
President Hu Jintao and his wife Liu Yongqing were welcomed by Peruvian Education Minister Jose Antonio Chang.
According to the official agenda, the Chinese president will meet this afternoon with his Peruvian counterpart Alan García Perez and then both leaders will participate in the signing ceremony of bilateral agreements.
Afterwards, president Garcia will decorate China's Hu Jintao with the Grand Cross with Diamonds of the Order "El Sol del Peru" (The Sun of Peru).
Finally, Chinese president Hu Jintao will be the guest of honor at a dinner hosted by president Alan García Pérez at the Great Dining Room of the Government Palace.
