Some 2,500 police officers to provide security during Paul McCartney concert

Some 2,500 police officers will be in charge of the security before and during Paul McCartney’s concert which will be held tonight at 21:30 hours (local time) at Monumental Stadium in the Lima district of Ate.

The head of the Seventh Territorial Directorate of the National Police (Dirtepol) Javier Sanguinetti noted that the police officers will be distributed in different areas of the Monumental Stadium.

Their main objective is to guarantee the protection and safety of the almost 45,000 people which will attend the former Beatle’s mega concert.

Sanguinetti further noted that the security measures have started today at 07:00 hours (12:00 GMT), 200 meters in the surrounding areas of the stadium and also suggested people to avoid wearing jewelry or carrying valuable belongings.

The Monday gig, part of his Up and Coming tour, will take place at Lima’s Monumental Stadium before a 45,000-strong audience. While in Lima, the ‘Hey Jude’ hitmaker will be awarded with Peru's Order of the Cinchona Tree for his environmental work.
