Peru's shooter Marco Matellini and judoka Carlos Zegarra will make their debut today at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

At 20:00 hours local time, Matellini will compete in the Men's Skeet Qualification - Day 1 at Beijing Shooting Range Hall.

36-year-old Matellini will be facing off against skeet shooters Rashid Hamad (Qatar), Zaid Almutairi (Kuwait), Mario Núñez (Spain), George Barton (Australia) and Tore Brovold (Norway).

On the other hand, Peruvian judoka Carlos Zegarra will fight against Argentinean Sandro López in Men +100 kg Preliminary at the University of Science and Technology Beijing Gymnasium.

Finally, Peruvian sailor Paloma Schmidt dropped to the 26th place in the third race of the Laser Radial sailing competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
