Seventeen inmates break from Peru prison

Police are searching for seventeen inmates of a Peruvian prison who escaped early Sunday morning, local authorities said.

The convicts, whose ages range from 21 to 42, escaped from the Challapalca prison in southern Peru's Tacna region.

They have been identified as Juan Jose Avila Flores (33), Alejandro Chambilla Musaja (40), Christian Eduardo Collahuaso Contreras (36), Marco Antonio Huancasi Rojas (30), Carlos Peter Morga (40), Narciso Quintana Campos (31), Óscar Arturo Ramos (30), Giancarlo Rueda (21),

Also, Jose Luis Torres Saavedra (35), Juan Lauro Ñaupari Solís (30), Dilmer Galvez Lucana (24), Jaime Alfonso Gomez Palomino (42), Alex Dennis Moncada Vera (31), Julio Farromeque Collantes, Julio Alexander Bernales (42), Albitrez Maceda Jose (27) y Ricardo Javier Bardabe Laurente (42).

The men had convictions including aggravated robbery, extortion, sexual assault, kidnapping, among others.
