Peruvian midfielder Rinaldo Cruzado has formally completed his move from Juan Aurich to AC Chievo Verona after signing a three-year deal with the Italians.
Cruzado was greeted by the team representatives at the town of Chievo, located in the city of Verona, the club’s official website reported.
“The new yellow and blue midfielder, born in Lima on September 21, 1984, arrived this morning from Peru,” says the website.
The Italian side confirmed that Cruzado, who as of today will be coached by Domenico di Carlo, signed a three-year deal to play in the Serie A league.
Cruzado, 26, played for Peru’s Alianza Lima (2003-2006), Sporting Cristal (2008), and Juan Aurich (2010-2011), Switzerland’s Grasshopper (2007-2008) and Iran’s Esteghlal Teheran (2009-2010).
His outstanding performance at the Copa America held in Argentina caught the attention of several European football clubs, before finally signing for Chievo Verona.
Cruzado will join Fiorentina’s Juan Vargas and Joazinho Arroe as the only Peruvians who currently play in Italy. Some Peruvian football legends who played in the Serie A include Victor Benitez (Milan, Inter and Roma) and Geronimo Barbadillo (Udinese).
