Private sector liquidity, which includes currency in circulation plus deposits, registered a 5.9% year-on-year increase in September 2025, the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reported today.
"This increase was driven by the growth in liquidity in local currency, which rose by 3.8%, and in foreign currency, which increased by 11.1%," the central bank stated.


By component, the BCRP detailed that currency in circulation increased by 11.6% year-on-year in September, while deposits grew by 4.8%.
By deposit type, savings deposits increased 11.6% year-on-year, and demand deposits grew 6.1% in September compared to the same month of the previous year.
In monthly terms, liquidity increased by 0.9% in September, corresponding to a 0.8% increase in currency in circulation and a 1% change in deposits.
