During her
stated on Tuesday that she will launch a new way of governing, in which the Peruvian State once again serves its people, because bureaucracy cannot become a barrier between citizens and their rights.
"We will establish channels of dialogue with regional and municipal governments to incorporate efficient mechanisms for coordinated work, so that all government levels contribute, within their respective areas of responsibility, to the country's major national goals," she said.
The Head of State specified that this effort’s purpose will be for the programs and projects of all government levels to be aligned, generate synergies, and contribute to closing the gaps affecting the majority of Peruvians.
In this regard, the top official said she will ensure that every Peruvian sol in the public budget is managed with absolute transparency and that all authorities account for the use of State resources.
According to the president, her administration's first priority will be emergency response and public safety, areas in which measures will be implemented to restore safety in the streets and prevent homes from being flooded.
Accordingly, the Head of State said her administration will immediately focus on two national emergency priorities: El Niño phenomenon mitigation and public safety, to which it will allocate extraordinary resources.
"The climate does not wait for the pace of bureaucracy. Therefore, we will implement a national contingency plan for El Niño phenomenon that will break with the pattern of delayed response and move into an era of timely prevention," Fujimori stated.
The top official also announced that she will immediately begin the large-scale desilting of rivers, the construction of river defenses based on modern technical criteria, the protection of river basins, and the implementation of a rapid-response logistics system.
Regarding public safety, the president said that every neighborhood, every highway, and every public space will be restored to Peruvian families.
"Wherever organized crime, drug trafficking, and illegal mining have wrested control from the State, we will make use of all the tools the Constitution places at the Government's disposal," she pointed out.
