She started delivering her first address to the nation, outlining the main guidelines that will shape her administration.
The solemn session began at 11:30 a.m. (local time), with the attendance of senators, deputies, heads of state and government, and other guests.
"I, Keiko Sofia Fujimori Higuchi, swear before you, before God and the Homeland, upon these Holy Gospels, that I will faithfully exercise the office of President of the Republic entrusted to me by the Nation for the 2026-2031 term," the president stated during the swearing-in ceremony.
"I swear that I will defend this land, national sovereignty, freedom, democracy, and the independence of the branches of government. I swear that I will uphold and enforce the Political Constitution and the laws of Peru," she added.
"I swear that I will safeguard the physical and moral integrity of all Peruvians, especially those who have historically been left behind. And I swear that, while respecting freedom of religion, I will recognize the importance of the Catholic Church in Peru's cultural and moral development, and that I will work tirelessly for a safe, prosperous, and united country," Fujimori Higuchi concluded.
Senate Chairman Miguel Torres placed the presidential sash on Keiko Fujimori after administering the oath of office, to sustained applause from the Bicameral Congress, composed of senators and deputies, while guests in attendance rose to recognize the new President.
The National Anthem was then played.
Afterwards, the Senate President administered the oath of office to First Vice President Luis Galarreta.
Miguel Torres was subsequently sworn in as Second Vice President of the Republic before Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Oscar Reto.
The ceremony is attended by national authorities and high-ranking dignitaries, including King Felipe VI of Spain, as well as Presidents Daniel Noboa (Ecuador), Jose Antonio Kast (Chile), Yamandu Orsi (Uruguay), Jose Raul Mulino (Panama), Santiago Peña (Paraguay), and Rodrigo Paz (Bolivia).
Also attending is U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, who arrived in Lima to represent President Donald Trump at the transfer of power ceremony.

Last Monday, the now-President Keiko Fujimori announced that Luis Galarreta will serve as Prime Minister in the administration that takes office on July 28.
Also introduced were the incoming Ministers of Economy and Finance, Elmer Cuba, and Foreign Affairs, Carlos Espa.
Keiko Fujimori said the remaining Cabinet appointments will be announced today.
