The President of the Republic Dina Boluarte on Wednesday underscored that her administration works tirelessly to ensure the safety of all citizens in Peru, with the aim that families can live without fear or worries.

"Living in a safe country, where our families can walk without fear or worry, is a right of every citizen and is the reason why my Government is working tirelessly," she expressed.

The top official explained that "this task is not easy," but that her administration is undertaking efforts to ensure this right for all.

Mrs. Boluarte said that on the first day of her administration last year she "assumed the task of defending public order and strengthening our population's security."

"Because only then will we boost economic growth and move our country forward on such important issues in which we have to engage," she stated.

The Head of State also said progress on this task can be made supported by "the broadest unity and in a concerted manner," so that multisectoral actions "can be sustainable over time."

Moreover, Mrs. Boluarte affirmed the Conasec should have a more executive approach next year, so that it "will be more effective and able to execute citizen security task actions in a more decentralized manner."

"The sustained actions have enabled us to take important steps in the fight against crime, but we must implement them; the agreements are important, but there must be a team in charge so that you can execute them, and the articulated work is important here," she added.
