Prime Minister Mirtha Vasquez on Wednesday confirmed that the Government respects the rule of law, adding that there is no violation of legal security or unilateral closures of mining operations.

"We reaffirm what we have been saying: the Government respects the rule of law, there is no violation of legal security or unilateral closures," she emphasized via Twitter.

Likewise, the Cabinet chief specified that the Peruvian State assumes the role of supervising mine closure and environmental control processes in accordance with the existing legal frameworks.

Remarks were made while addressing the recent statement of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) on the dialogue held with the National Society of Mining, Oil, and Energy (SNMPE).

The PCM explained that this approach aims to address the concerns of communities and environment protection.

Moreover, the PCM ruled out the unilateral withdrawal of operations of mining units and reiterated its absolute and unrestricted respect for fundamental rights, the current constitutional and legal framework, as well as freedom of business.
