"As the Executive Branch, we are the most interested in having the facts clarified and identifying the responsibilities over the vaccines administered in an irregular manner," she expressed.
The Cabinet chief recalled that the first measure adopted by the Executive Branch
—after learning about the case of irregular vaccines— was to send all the information to the Public Ministry, the Attorney General's Office, Congress, and the investigative commission created by the Ministry of Health for this purpose.
Likewise, the Prime Minister assured that she had never met with representatives of the Sinopharm laboratory, within the framework of the negotiations for the procurement of vaccines against COVID-19.
"I am asked if I have met with Sinopharm. I have never met with Sinopharm because it is not included in my duties, as President of the Council of Ministers, to participate in these meetings or negotiations," she told lawmakers.
"So, I can categorically say that the Presidency of the Council of Ministers does not participate in the negotiations, and I have not participated in any meeting either with Sinopharm or with any laboratory, because that is not my role," she concluded.
