The Third Family Court of Lima ordered four-month preventive detention for six adolescents under investigation for the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old student at Almirante Guise Naval High School.
The court also ordered that they be taken to the Lima Juvenile Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center, the Judiciary reported Friday night.
"Judge Roxana Isabel Palacios Yactayo ordered that the adolescents, students at Almirante Guise Naval High School, be taken to the Lima Juvenile Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center (known as Maranguita)," located in San Miguel district, it indicated.
Earlier, the Twelfth Family Court of Lima ordered various preventive protective measures in favor of the Almirante Guise Naval High School student who was the victim of sexual abuse.
These measures include prohibiting the alleged perpetrators from using private spaces or social media platforms (WhatsApp, Facebook, among others) against the victim, as well as mandatory psychological therapy for them.
Moreover, this court ordered constant patrols on a weekly basis to be carried out by the local police station at the victim's home.
What did the Prosecutor's Office propose?
The Seventh Family Prosecutor's Office of Central Lima requested four months of preventive detention for fifth-year secondary school students at the Naval High School.
They were reported for the alleged sexual assault of a 16-year-old student.
The incident occurred in Lima's San Borja district on September 15.
Provincial Prosecutor Mariano de la Torre requested the measure to ensure the students' presence after gathering evidence linking them to an offense under criminal law.
These include statements from the minors involved, the police agents who intervened, the parents who reported the incident, and the victim's forensic medical examination.
The adolescents' period of detention in flagrante delicto expired on Friday.
