Peru's 2026 Elections: Proclamation of presidential results by JEEs

The Special Electoral Boards (JEEs) continue holding public hearings to carry out the decentralized proclamation of the vote count results for the presidential race held during the General Elections on April 12.

Today, Wednesday, May 13, the Puno Special Electoral Board (JEE), whose jurisdiction covers Chucuito, Yunguyo, El Collao, and Puno provinces, proclaimed the 100% results for the presidential election based on the electoral records counted.

The total number of polling tables installed within the territorial jurisdiction of the Puno JEE was 1,168. Of these, 1,128 electoral records were counted as regular and 40 as challenged. No electoral records were declared null. Likewise, three electoral records were subject to vote recounts.

Regarding the consolidated results, 219,043 valid votes were counted. Null votes totaled 14,354, while blank votes reached 29,013. The total number of ballots cast within this jurisdiction amounted to 262,410.

Huaura Special Electoral Board (JEE)

The Huaura Special Electoral Board (JEE), whose jurisdiction includes Barranca, Cajatambo, Canta, Huaral, Huaura, and Oyon provinces, proclaimed the results of the electoral records counted in the presidential race.

A total of 1,755 polling tables were installed. Of these, 1,675 electoral records were classified as regular and 80 as challenged. No electoral records were declared null. Likewise, seven electoral records were subject to vote recounts.

Regarding the results, 324,134 valid votes were counted. Null votes totaled 22,227, while blank votes reached 52,191. The total number of ballots cast amounted to 398,552.

Decentralized proclamations since Tuesday

The Lima Oeste 1 Special Electoral Board (JEE) proclaimed its presidential race vote count results during a public hearing.

During the reading of the decentralized proclamation record, officials reported that within this JEE's jurisdiction, 294 polling tables were installed in Lince district, representing 100% of the planned total, and 294 electoral records were received.

In Magdalena district, 255 polling tables were installed, no polling tables remained uninstalled, and 255 electoral records were received.

Meanwhile, 237 polling tables were installed in Pueblo Libre district, none remained uninstalled, and 337 electoral records were received.

In San Isidro district, 281 polling tables were installed, none remained uninstalled, and 281 electoral records were received, while in San Miguel district, 504 polling tables were installed, none remained uninstalled, and 504 electoral records were received.

In total, 1,671 polling tables were installed, representing all those planned within its jurisdiction, and 1,671 electoral records were received.

Likewise, 1,615 electoral records were counted and 56 were challenged, of which 15 were subject to vote recounts.

Decentralized proclamations since Monday

JEE Lima Centro 1

The Lima Centro 1 Special Electoral Board (JEE) held a public hearing to carry out the decentralized proclamation of the vote count results for the presidential race held during the General Elections on April 12.

This special electoral body began the procedure in the presence of party representatives and members of the media.

In the consolidated report for the Lima Centro 1 Special Electoral Board, officials read out the number of polling tables installed and electoral records received for the districts under its jurisdiction: Breña, Jesus Maria, and Lima districts.

In the case of Breña, 355 polling tables were installed and the same number of electoral records were received.

Meanwhile, 431 polling tables were set up and 431 electoral records were received in Jesus Maria.

In Lima, 1,030 polling tables were installed and the same number of electoral records were received.

That means a total of 1,816 polling tables were installed and 1,816 electoral records were received within the Lima Centro 1 Special Electoral Board, representing the consolidated total for the entire jurisdiction.

Similarly, 61 electoral records were challenged, none were declared null, and only five underwent the vote recount procedure.

JEE Lima Centro 2

The Lima Centro 2 Special Electoral Board (JEE) proclaimed the presidential vote count results for the electoral district of Peruvians abroad.

Within this electoral jurisdiction, which includes Africa, the Americas, Asia, Europe, and Oceania, 2,543 polling tables were set up, while 48 were not installed.

Of the total electoral records processed, 1,775 were classified as regular, 711 as challenged, nine declared null, and 88 subject to vote recounts.

Likewise, officials reported that a total of 411,077 citizens cast their ballots from a registry of 1,192,224 eligible voters abroad, with 100% of ballots cast counted.

Regarding the results, null votes totaled 28,323, equivalent to 6.9%, while blank votes reached 74,792, representing 18.2% of the total.

Trujillo Special Electoral Board (JEE)

Earlier, the Trujillo Special Electoral Board (JEE), whose jurisdiction includes the provinces of Trujillo and Viru in La Libertad region, presented the vote count results corresponding to that electoral district.

Within this jurisdiction, 388,799 ballots cast were counted, of which 334,755 were valid votes, representing 86.1% of the total.

Blank votes totaled 36,291, equivalent to 9.3%, while null votes reached 17,753, accounting for 4.56%.

Officials also reported that 1,675 polling tables were installed. Regarding the electoral records processed, 1,525 regular records and 150 challenged records were counted, of which 31 were subject to vote recounts.

It should be noted that the Trujillo Special Electoral Board (JEE) is one of the three special electoral boards operating in La Libertad region.

Thus, following the proclamation of results by the 60 Special Electoral Boards (JEEs) nationwide, the National Elections Board (JNE) receives the decentralized records and proceeds with the general proclamation of results.
